Living in an age with so many advances in technology and media has presented a myriad of opportunities that were previously unheard of. You can view and converse live with a friend who has moved to another country using Snapchat or you can view up-to-the-second photos of distant family and friends on Facebook. These are just two examples of social media that have made a powerful impact on our day-to-day lives. There’s no question that these amazing capabilities enhance our abilities to socialize, but there’s always a flip side to any situation: can it be that something this great could also be dangerous and detrimental to individuals—our youth in particular? This event is presented by Michael Dzwil, Child and Adolescent Outpatient Program Supervisor, Northwell Health.
